If becoming a doctor or a nurse in Saudi Arabia feels like a pipe dream, it really is not and furthermore, it is achievable.
The only thing you need to do is act on it now. Don’t be that nurse or doctor who dreams of having a better life abroad while doing nothing to make it come true. Time will pass you by and the next thing you know, you have a kid going to college and you have no money to make his dreams come true. Just do it one step at a time, after all, you have nothing to lose. For this purpose, I have prepared a simplified guide on how to register as a health practitioner in Saudi Arabia.
1. Prepare your Documents.
As always, just like when you apply for a job here in the Philippines, you would need to prepare your documents. Create a clearly scanned copy of your documents, specifically your Transcript of Records, your Certificates of Employment, your PRC board certificate, relevant passport pages, and finally a passport picture. Convert them to a PDF file in preparation to uploading them later. You would save more in the long-term if you get your PSV Report via TrueProfile.io.
2. Create an Account at Mumaris Plus
To make things official, you need to create an account with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialities or Mumaris Plus. They are the governing body for any medical related field, issue, and profession in the Kingdom. You will need an email address and a phone number. Resist creating two accounts or you might get banned from getting your eligibility ID. Wait for the text message saying that an activation email has been sent or wait for the email itself. Click on the link inside the email body in order to activate your Mumaris account.
3. Create an Eligibility Number
Once your Mumaris Plus account has been activated, go to the page where you can create an Eligibility Number for Applicant from Outside KSA. If you have been accepted by an agency to work in KSA, you would still need to undergo the prometric test and to verify your documents. It’s much cheaper to do it here than to do it in KSA and risk failing the test and then getting deported.
4. Eligibility Numbers
Now that you have received the text message that a link has been sent to your email, you can now begin scheduling your Prometric Exam. The time frame is anywhere from a day to up to a month for the email. You can follow up with Mumaris if you haven’t received it. You will receive two numbers. One for the exam and the other for your DataFlow verification.
5. Prometric Exam
With your eligibility number on hand, you can now schedule your exam. The Philippines have two exam centers and they are Ateneo Professional Schools in Makati, and the Prometric Testing Center in Cebu. You can also use this guide to help you.
6. DataFlow Verification
Finally, you may have heard of Primary Source Verification. That’s what we do and that’s what you need to undergo if you want to work in Saudi Arabia. It just means that your documents will be tested for their authenticity. Now that you have the eligibility number, you can create an account and get your data verified.
Best of luck!
