COVID-19: UAE Key Workers Stranded Abroad Allowed to Go Back

The United Arab Emirates has now given the go-signal for some key workers in the country to return. Many citizen and resident visa holders have been stranded abroad due to the suspension of all inbound flights because of the global pandemic.

If you are one of the thousands of people grounded overseas, the Emirates are now processing permits to travel for some essential workers. These include, but are not limited to, teachers, healthcare workers, airline staff, and including students separated from their families. You can coordinate with the Emirates via their Twajudi Resident Service online, or via their phone number 80044444. Local residents can inquire about coming home via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation.

Twajudi Resident Service

You can apply for the permission to travel via the Twajudi Resident Service, the government registration service of the Emirates. Once they have processed your application, you will receive an electronic receipt. This confirms your consent to fly from the officials in Abu Dhabi.
