Bahrain Health Professional License

5 Steps in Getting Licensed as a Health Professional in Bahrain

TrueProfile.io will make things easy for you by breaking down the Bahrain Health Professional licensing process into 5 easy-to-follow steps.

Bahrain Health Professional LIcense

5 Easy Steps to get that License

Briefly, this is for OFWs who have already been accepted by a prospective employer. The prospective employer will have also provided you with an application package and will usually act as your sponsor.

As of March 20, 2017, the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) of Bahrain has tied up with the DataFlow Group to implement Primary Source Verification (PSV) for all non-Bahraini applicants. You would need to get your documents verified with DataFlow or TrueProfile.io first before applying for your license. If you want to get ahead of the competition, a TrueProof PSV Report is the best way to do this. In order to get your own PSV report, click here.

  1. You need to submit your application online via the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) – Bahrain’s website. Sign up to their website (please see this guide for further details) and once you have successfully logged in, you can then begin your application. Prepare the application submission fee amounting to 20 BD. The required documents are, generally speaking, the usual ones that you prepare when applying for a job abroad. Please see the list below:
  • The job offer or offer letter from your prospective employer
  • Passport-size photo with white background (1 piece)
  • Photocopy of your Passport page (with your information)
  • College/University Diploma
  • College Transcript of Records – attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bahraini Embassy
  • Your Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license (if you are licensed in any other countries, you will also need to include a copy of your license there as well)
  • Good Standing Certificate issued by the licensing authority of the country where you last practiced your profession
  • Copy of your Resumé/C.V.
  • Experience certificate/s
  1. Once your application has been evaluated, you will receive an email from NHRA to let you know whether you need to take the Bahrain Licensure Examination (BLE) or if you are exempt from it. If you need to take the exam, you will be given an eligibility code. Use the eligibility code to register for the BLE – please note that it is valid for 3 months and is for single-use only. An eligibility code can be reused if an applicant failed the exam as it will be reactivated.
  2. Take the BLE and wait for the results. Take note that you can only take the exam with the approval of the NHRA. Without approval, results will not be accepted for licensure. Previous Prometric results are not acceptable. Pass marks for Nurses is at 50%, whilst it is set at 60% for Physicians, Dentists, Pharmacists, and Optometrists.
  3. Once you get the results of the BLE, upload a copy of your examination report together with your online application. If you pass the exam, your license processing is complete and this is the same as well for those who are exempt from it. If you are exempt from the BLE, you will be issued a letter addressed to the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). If your application (after you upload the passing results) passed, you will also get this letter. Once you get your work permit from the LMRA, you need to upload your copy of your CPR, a Health Fitness certificate issued by a licensed facility in Bahrain, and if requested, a Ministry of Education Equalization certificate.
  4. Pay online. You will get a notice to pay once all your papers have been processed. You will then get a notice that your license is ready for collection. Get your license and you can now practice your profession in Bahrain. Congratulations!

  • Marianne says:

After reading the steps on how to get the NHRA license, I came to a conclusion that PSV is basically useless if we end up sending requests personally for verification of our degrees and our license. It’s only the work experience really is verified thru PSV, hope it make sense. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    • Grace Torres says:

Hello Marianne, thanks for reaching out. As per the article, the NHRA has teamed up with the DataFlow group for their PSV requirements. Most regulators employ third-party check to preserve the integrity of the verification process, thus, personal verification requests are not only non sequitur, it also does not serve the purpose of PSV.

Hope that helps. If you need more clarification, please don’t hesitate to ask.

      Regards,

Hi , i am Dr Mahesh Anesthesiologist , have applied for job in Bahrain . I have already done my primary certificate verification from EPIC(ELECTRONIC PORTFOLIO OF INTERNATIONAL CREDENTIALS) which is a part of ECFMG , USA . So to apply for NHRA should i need to do DATAFLOW again because both work the same way online verification of certificates and even the reports form EPIC is confidential and authenticity maintained as they send report directly to job provider.

I am a Licensed Pharmacist in the Philippines. According to NHRA, I need an employer, which is the very first requirement for the exam. But I’ve been looking for employers and after almost more than 10 calls, they need a licensed Pharmacist already. How will I get a license if I don’t have an employer. I’m really confused.
